Trusting Well, part 1

I expect the topic of trusting well to require multiple installments.

People can get in situations like that mentioned in this post where people trust less and because they trust less, they behave in a less trustworthy way, and the other person does the same, a downward spiral of trust.

One would think that this would always end a relationship, but often, it does not, because there's some force holding people together other than the quality of their interactions with each other. Maybe it's a job that you can't quit, or family you won't disown, or friends who need you for a purpose, or whom you are devoted to for some reason other than the quality of your interactions.
